We are a little bit behind with the weekend round-up based on some slow hotel WiFi and the additional part of finding it hard to pull away from holiday mode here in Majorca to be sat in front of the computer.....but we have done a round up on the weekend below for Soper Performance Coaching athletes.
Apologies to Tom for no write-up. A victim of his own success, Tom achieved his Cat 2 licence with a storming win at Tour Series Aberdeen Cat 2/3/4 race at the end of May meaning he was pulled from planned race this weekend which was a Cat 3/4.
Friday night saw the 5th Surrey League race with Jonathan in action tackling this as a training event forming part of a strength building block of training prior after the end of university exams and prepping for the summer race season. A good hard effort within the race saw Jonathan come home with the main bunch, placing 14th.
Scottish National 25TT
Sunday saw the latest round of Scottish National TT Championships, this time with the 25TT being held on the A90 near Forfar. Jamie was in action as a relatively early starter and smashed his PB (was a 54:54) to set the 7th fastest time of the day with a 51:40. We believe this to be an Aberdeen Wheelers club record as well. #RedAndYellow
Another storming performance and we are excited to see the results of this coming weekend when Jamie is in action at the Neish Low 25TT.
Also a special mention to John Archibald who took the National Title, smashing a certain Graeme Obree's national record in the process with an astounding 47:57!
Chris was up in action on Sunday in the Leithaberg Radmarathon, with a rather wicked climb in the opening stages the race broke quite quickly as the riders ascended. Chris unfortunately was split from the main pack but worked well in the group that formed to finish the race in a new personal best. Not the result we were after in terms of placings but a strong ride nonetheless ahead of the BA Liga on Tuesday and the target race of the Merida Cup Cunovo ITT on Saturday to come.
